Quickline Broadband: What's on offer?

Lyndsey Burton
This broadband comparison is produced and maintained by Choose, under the editorial oversight of Lyndsey Burton, Founder & Managing Director.

Quickline is an independent broadband provider focused on connecting rural communities across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, using a mix of full fibre (FTTP) and fixed wireless access (FWA) technologies.

The provider operates its own network and is targeting hundreds of thousands of premises across underserved areas, where traditional fibre rollout has been limited.

Full fibre broadband plans are now structured around simple, speed-based tiers:

  • Full Fibre 200
  • Full Fibre 500
  • Full Fibre 1000
  • Full Fibre 2300

These plans deliver symmetrical upload and download speeds on most tiers, offering consistent performance for streaming, gaming, and home working.

Fixed wireless broadband is also available in areas where fibre has not yet been installed:

  • Air 100
  • Air 200

These services use a receiver installed at the property to connect to a nearby mast, providing fast broadband without the need for underground cables.

All customers receive a WiFi 6 router as standard, along with installation and UK-based customer support. Quickline also offers fixed pricing, with no mid-contract price rises on its broadband plans.

Availability of Quickline broadband

Quickline operates its own broadband network across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, focusing on connecting rural and hard-to-reach communities using a mix of full fibre (FTTP) and fixed wireless access (FWA).

The network now passes over 500,000 premises, with coverage concentrated in smaller towns, villages and agricultural areas where traditional fibre rollout has been limited.

Current coverage spans large parts of North, West and East Yorkshire, as well as Lincolnshire, including areas around York, Harrogate, Scarborough, Doncaster, Wakefield, Lincoln and the Lincolnshire Wolds, alongside many surrounding villages.

Quickline is continuing to expand rapidly through Government-backed Project Gigabit contracts, including agreements to connect around 170,000 additional premises across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Availability is highly location-specific, particularly in rural areas, so customers should check their postcode to confirm whether service is available at their address.

Quickline broadband speeds

Quickline offers full fibre broadband with speeds ranging from 200Mb up to 2.3Gb on its fastest plans, alongside fixed wireless options in areas where fibre has not yet been installed.

Full fibre (FTTP) plans deliver symmetrical speeds, meaning upload speeds match downloads:

Average download speed Average upload speed
Full Fibre 200 200Mb 200Mb
Full Fibre 500 500Mb 500Mb
Full Fibre 1000 1000Mb 1000Mb
Full Fibre 2300 2300Mb 2300Mb

These symmetrical speeds can improve performance for video calls, cloud backups and large file transfers, particularly in busy households.

In areas without full fibre coverage, Quickline also offers fixed wireless broadband:

Average download speed Average upload speed
Air 100 100Mb Up to 20Mb
Air 200 200Mb Up to 30Mb

Fixed wireless plans offer lower upload speeds than full fibre but remain suitable for streaming, browsing and everyday use, particularly in rural areas where fibre is not yet available.

For most households, Full Fibre 200 will comfortably support everyday use, while Full Fibre 500 and above are better suited to larger homes or multiple users online at the same time. The 1Gb and 2.3Gb plans are designed for high-demand households and those wanting maximum performance.

New customer offers

Customers moving to Quickline broadband for the first time can access the latest offers shown in the comparison table above.

Introductory discounts on the monthly price are sometimes available, typically on 24-month plans.

All new customers receive free setup and installation, along with a WiFi 6 router included as standard.

Key terms for Quickline broadband deals

Quickline broadband comes with a minimum contract term of 24 months. If you cancel before the end of this period, early termination charges may apply based on the remaining months left on the contract.

Quickline does not apply mid-contract price rises, meaning the monthly price remains fixed for the duration of the minimum term.

All customers are provided with a WiFi 6 router, which remains the property of Quickline and must be returned when the service ends. The same applies to any fixed wireless equipment installed at the property for Air broadband services.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast is Quickline full fibre broadband?

Quickline offers full fibre broadband with speeds ranging from 200Mb up to 2.3Gb on its fastest plans.

All full fibre packages deliver symmetrical speeds, meaning upload speeds match downloads, which can improve performance for video calls, gaming and large file transfers.

Customers can choose from Full Fibre 200, 500, 1000 and 2300 plans, depending on availability at their address.

What is fixed wireless broadband and how does it work?

Fixed wireless broadband delivers internet access using a wireless signal rather than a physical cable connected to your home.

A small receiver (antenna) is installed on the outside of your property, which connects to a nearby mast or transmitter. This signal is then passed to a router inside the home, providing a standard WiFi connection.

It is commonly used in rural areas where full fibre broadband is not yet available, offering faster speeds than traditional copper-based connections.

While download speeds can be high, upload speeds are usually lower than full fibre, and performance can be affected by distance from the transmitter and local conditions.

What router comes with Quickline broadband?

Quickline supplies most full fibre customers with a WiFi 6-enabled Zyxel EX5601 router.

This is a dual-band WiFi 6 router designed to deliver strong coverage and performance across the home, with support for multiple connected devices and high-speed broadband connections. It also includes a 2.5Gb Ethernet port, allowing customers on faster plans to make the most of higher-speed wired connections.

The router supports mesh networking, so additional devices can be added where needed to improve WiFi coverage in larger or multi-storey homes.

What happens if I can't pay my bill?

If you're struggling to pay your bill, Quickline offers a social broadband tariff for customers receiving certain means-tested benefits.

The Quickline Social Tariff costs £16.50 per month and provides average download speeds of 100Mb and upload speeds of around 50Mb.

The plan is available to both new and existing customers who receive eligible benefits, including Universal Credit (with zero earnings), Pension Credit, Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Housing Benefit, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, and support for care leavers.

As a social tariff, this plan is protected from standard annual price increases while you remain eligible.
