Customers joining Hey! Broadband can choose from three full fibre broadband speeds, including 150Mbps, 400Mbps, and a gigabit-capable 900Mbps plan.
Most households coming to full fibre broadband for the first time will find the cheapest Superfast 150 plan more than adequate, while larger homes, and those where more occupants are going online at the same time will benefit from the faster speeds of the Megafast 400 and even Gigafast 900 plans.
Here are the average download and upload speeds of each Hey! Broadband plan:
Average download speed | Average upload speed | |
---|---|---|
Superfast 150 | 150Mbps | 150Mbps |
Megafast 400 | 400Mbps | 400Mbps |
Gigafast 900 | 900Mbps | 900Mbps |
All Hey! Broadband plans offer symmetrical speeds, which means the upload speed is as fast as the download speed. Many other plans, even full fibre plans, including those offered by BT, Sky, TalkTalk, and Virgin Media offer asymmetrical, or slower upload speeds, on their plans. So, this is a benefit of choosing Hey! Broadband if it's available in your area.
The advertised averages listed above must be received by at least 50% of Hey! Broadband customers during the peak hours of 8pm to 10pm in the evening when the network is busiest, so they're a good indication of what speed we can expect to receive.
Customers signing up to Hey! Broadband for the first time will be eligible for the new customer offers and prices listed in the table above.
Offers include money off for an initial period, including for the length of the minimum term, as well as vouchers for signing up online.
These deals and prices are available via the 'Get deal' buttons above, where you should sign up online for the Hey! Broadband deal you've chosen.
Hey! Broadband packages are provided with minimum contract terms of 24 months, 12 months, or 30 days, which can be chosen at the point of sign up.
Those who need extra flexibility should pick a shorter contract length, as cancelling during a minimum term can incur early leaving fees, which can be expensive.
Hey! Broadband do promise no mid-contract price hikes, which mean prices won't go up during the minimum term at all, so you can be sure the price you sign up for will remain the same for the duration of the contract length.
While Hey! Broadband offer a digital phone line option, this is only available where customers choose to sign up for 12 or 24 months.
Where full fibre broadband has rolled out to your area it will provide faster and more reliable broadband speeds thanks to installing a fibre optic cable direct to your home.
For those who live some distance from their local telephone exchange or street cabinet, speeds will be much faster and able to support more people going online at the same time.
Customers lucky enough to choose from Hey! Broadband as well as BT full fibre broadband, will find prices could be cheaper with Hey! Broadband and upload speeds are also symmetrical. Compare all deals in your area here.
Hey! Broadband offer customers the choice to take a digital home phone line when they sign up for a minimum of 12 months.
The home phone line costs £9.50 per month on top of the broadband charge, but includes anytime calls to UK standard mobile and landline numbers.
Hey! Broadband provide all customers with a WiFi 6 enabled router, either a Linksys MX4000 or the Adtran 854-v6.
Both routers support WiFi 6 and mesh technology, so it's possible to add additional devices with the Smart WiFi add-on to boost signal around the home.
Hey! Broadband customers can add the Smart WiFi pack for an extra £7 per month on 24-month broadband plans.
The Smart WiFi pack includes two Plume WiFi Pods to boost wireless signal around the home, which should be plenty for most households, although more devices can be purchased if necessary.
While Hey! Broadband promise no mid-contract price rises, so the price won't go up during the contract period, if customers struggle to pay their bill at any point, Hey! Broadband offer a social tariff for those on means tested benefits that they can switch to.
The Everyday Fibre plan offers download speeds of 100Mbps and costs just £16 per month.
It's available for new and existing customers in receipt of Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Housing Benefit, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, or Care Leaders support.
