Sky TV and Broadband: What's on offer?

Sky broadband plans can be bundled with Sky Stream, the new lower-cost Sky Glass Air TV, or the premium Sky Glass, allowing customers to combine TV and broadband in a single monthly package.

Bundling TV and broadband typically reduces the overall monthly cost compared to buying the services separately, while also simplifying billing and installation.

Sky offer the following broadband plans, depending on network availability:

• Superfast (part-fibre FTTC areas)
• Full Fibre 75
• Full Fibre 150
• Full Fibre 500
• Full Fibre Gigafast

These can be combined with Sky Essential TV or Sky Ultimate TV. Both include over 100 live channels and access to streaming apps such as Netflix and Discovery+, along with Sky Atlantic.

From March, Sky Ultimate TV will also include access to HBO Max at no extra cost, bringing HBO original series and Warner Bros. content into the core bundle. Sky has also announced that additional streaming apps including Disney+ and Hayu will be integrated into the Sky TV platform, allowing customers to manage subscriptions directly through Sky.

Sky Stream and Sky Glass deliver TV over broadband rather than a satellite dish, while Sky Glass Air provides a lower-cost version of the Sky Glass television with the same built-in streaming platform.

Customers can further customise packages by adding premium channel packs including Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, TNT Sports, and Sky Kids, as well as optional extras such as the Sky Max add-on, which includes enhanced router features and a WiFi coverage guarantee.

Sky Stream, Sky Glass, or Sky Glass Air

Sky TV customers can choose between the Sky Stream puck, the full-featured Sky Glass television, or the newer Sky Glass Air TV.

The Sky Stream puck connects to an existing television via HDMI and delivers Sky TV over a broadband connection, without requiring a satellite dish. This makes it the lowest-cost option for households that already have a compatible TV.

Sky Glass and Sky Glass Air are televisions with the Sky platform built in, removing the need for a separate box. Sky Glass is the premium model, with a higher-spec display and integrated Dolby Atmos sound system, while Sky Glass Air is designed as a lower-cost alternative with the same streaming-based Sky TV interface.

Sky Stream is typically available with free setup, while Sky Glass and Sky Glass Air can be purchased upfront or paid monthly over an interest-free loan alongside a Sky TV subscription.

Sky broadband availability

Sky TV is available nationwide, and Sky broadband is available to around 98% of UK homes using a combination of part-fibre and full fibre networks.

Sky broadband is primarily delivered over the Openreach network, which has upgraded over 20 million premises to full fibre and plans to reach up to 25 million homes by the end of 2026. In some areas, Sky also provides full fibre broadband using alternative networks such as CityFibre, expanding availability beyond the Openreach footprint.

Where full fibre is available, customers are connected using a fibre optic cable installed directly to the property (FTTP), providing faster and more reliable speeds compared to older copper-based connections.

Entry-level plans such as Sky Full Fibre 75 provide sufficient speed for streaming Sky TV in HD, while faster packages offer additional capacity for multiple users and 4K streaming.

Sky recommends a minimum broadband speed of around 25Mbps for HD streaming on Sky Stream or Sky Glass, rising to around 30Mbps or more for Ultra HD viewing or multi-room setups.

All Sky full fibre packages exceed these minimum requirements, although faster plans can provide a more consistent experience in busy households with multiple devices connected at the same time.

New customer offers

Sky regularly offers discounted pricing on TV and broadband bundles for new customers, typically applying for the duration of the minimum contract term.

These offers are usually available to households that have not had Sky TV or Sky Broadband within the previous 12 months, although eligibility requirements can vary depending on the specific promotion.

Key terms for Sky TV and broadband deals

Sky TV and broadband bundles are typically sold on 24-month minimum contract terms. Customers who cancel before the end of the minimum term may need to pay early termination charges to cover the remaining contract period.

Sky applies annual price increases to most broadband and TV services. In April 2026, Sky will increase broadband prices by £3 per month and Sky Cinema by £1 per month. These annual adjustments are usually applied each spring and customers are notified in advance of any pricing changes.

Core Sky TV subscriptions taken with broadband normally follow the same minimum term, but premium add-ons such as Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, TNT Sports, Sky Kids, and Ultra HD are often available on 31-day rolling contracts, allowing customers to add or remove them monthly.

Sky broadband routers and Sky Stream devices are loaned to customers and must be returned when cancelling service. Sky Glass and Sky Glass Air televisions, however, are purchased outright or via an interest-free loan, and remain the customer's property once fully paid off.

If a customer cancels their Sky TV subscription, Sky Glass and Sky Glass Air continue to function as normal televisions, but access to Sky channels and subscription features will end.
