TNT Sports on Discovery+ sees price rise

Discovery+ Premium, which includes access to the TNT Sports pack, has risen in price from £29.99 per month to £30.99 per month.

Existing subscribers will also be subject to the price rise, but they'll be given a 30-day notice first, with prices due to go up from 15th February 2024.

Those watching TNT Sports through a pay TV provider including Sky, Virgin Media or BT, won't be subject to these price rises, and can access deals for as little as £18 per month.

TNT Sports price increase

TNT Sports moved to Discovery+ Premium in July 2023 when the channels were rebranded from BT Sport. At the time, the TNT Sports pack was priced at £29.99 per month, the same price as it had been as the BT Sport Monthly Pass.

However, from 15th February existing customers will see their price increase from £29.99 to £30.99 per month, and any new customers signing up will pay the higher price from this week.

It's arguable Discovery+ Premium offers more value for money than the BT Sport Monthly Pass, as it also includes all the content in Discovery+ Standard, which costs £6.99 per month and allows customers to also watch channels including Eurosport 1 & 2, Discovery, TLC, Quest, Really, and exclusive Discovery+ Originals.

Despite that, it'll no doubt be disappointing for existing customers to find their price going up, especially when many broadband and mobile customers are likely to see unavoidable prices rises in April due to mid-contract price hikes.

Pay TV customers

For the time being, the price of TNT Sports through pay TV bundles remains the same, with deals available as low as £18 per month with Virgin Media and BT.

However, shortly after TNT Sports rebranded, Virgin Media also dropped the channels from their Bigger Bundle and newly named Mega Volt Bundle, which had previously included the channel pack for free.

The move has meant the cost of watching TNT Sports on Virgin Media has increased by £18 per month, as customers now have to subscribe to the pack in addition to any bundle they're on.

Yet, Virgin Media remain the cheapest way to watch TNT Sports, with add-on prices as low as £16.20 per month on Virgin Stream when the 10% bill credit offer is taken into account.

The Bigger Combo Bundle with TNT Sports added also still offers good value for money, despite no longer including the channels for free. At the time of writing, it costs £54 per month for M250 broadband with over 190 TV channels, Virgin TV 360, and the TNT Sports pack in HD and UHD.

Customers living outside of a Virgin Media enabled area can also watch TNT Sports through BT TV, with their current Sport + Fibre 2 deal bundling 67Mbps average download speeds with TNT Sports and Eurosport for just £53.99 per month, plus a £50 Reward Card offer until 25th January 2024.
