As you can see, the basic Bigger Bundle option is the cheapest at just £40 per month, and includes M350 broadband with average download speeds of 362Mb per second.

Customers who want both sports and movies will need to look to the Mega Volt bundle, which combines pretty much everything Virgin Media has to offer, with much faster broadband speeds of 1.13Gbps as well.

Bigger Volt Bundle

Each Bigger Bundle option can also be taken with Volt, which includes the WiFi Max guarantee and bundles in an O2 SIM plan with 10GB data and unlimited minutes and texts.

While Volt used to boost the broadband speed to the next tier, this benefit has currently been removed from TV & broadband Volt bundles.

In fact, customers should watch out as, at the time of writing, the Bigger Combo Volt Bundle + Movies has a slower broadband speed - M250 broadband - than the standard Bigger Combo Bundle + Movies, which offers M500 broadband.

Other bundles, including the Bigger Combo Volt Bundle and Bigger Combo Volt Bundle + Sports HD offer the same M350 or M500 broadband plan as the standard versions.

Aside from this small downside, Volt does include added extras such as Virgin Media's WiFi Max guarantee for free - which is worth £8 per month, a 10GB data O2 SIM with unlimited minutes - worth £10 per month, plus double data for all existing O2 household plans, inclusive roaming, and O2 Priority.

Biggest Combo Bundle

The Biggest Combo Bundle is another option from Virgin Media, which sits somewhere between the Bigger Bundle and the top-tier Mega Volt Bundle.

It's mostly suited to those who want a lot of TV but who don't necessary want to be paying for very fast broadband as well.

As you can see from the pricing table below, the Biggest Combo bundle is only slightly less expensive than Mega Volt, and only comes with M125 broadband.

The Biggest Combo Bundle includes Sky Sports, but only in SD, while the Mega Volt bundle includes Sky Sports in HD.

Mega Volt also benefits from more channels overall, including the kids pack, as well as an unlimited data O2 mobile SIM, free WiFi guarantee and other Volt benefits.

Considering it's only £5.99 per month more expensive customers should largely skip over the Biggest Combo bundle if they're wanting to combine sports and movies.

While some customers may be tempted by the cheaper out of contract price, which is £54 per month less with the Biggest Combo bundle, they should remember it's possible to negotiate with Virgin at the end of a minimum term for a better price.

Setup is currently waived under a special offer at the time of writing, but usually costs £35.

While it does vary, Virgin Media is currently offering the Bigger Bundle with their M350 broadband plan, which offers average speeds of 362Mbps down and 36Mbps up at peak times.

M350 Volt broadband and phone costs £37.99 per month right now, which makes the Bigger Bundle exceptional value for money in comparison to taking less services.

Even the broadband-only version of M350 currently costs £35.99 per month, just £4 per month less than this bundle which also includes TV and phone.

Bigger Bundle TV channels

The Bigger Bundle includes over 190 TV channels, some of these are free-to-air from Freeview, but many others are premium pay TV channels, including Sky Max and Discovery.

Along with Sky Sports Racing HD and Viaplay Extra from the Big Bundle, the Bigger Bundle sports channels also include:

The kids channels in the Bigger Bundle are the four channels available on Freeview, which include CBBC HD, CBeebies HD, Pop, and Tiny Pop. So customers wanting extra kids content, like Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network will need to upgrade to the kids pack for an extra £5 per month.

Virgin Media also recently signed a deal to bring Pluto TV to its platform, which will add another 100 live channels, including CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, The Drew Barrymore Show, and a range of MTV and Channel 5 spin-off shows.

Overall, while there is plenty of duplication in the channel count to make up 190 with various +1 versions of the same channel, there's also plenty of decent content there too, with access to premium programming through Sky, Discovery, and other platforms.

Virgin Media's Bigger Bundle + Movies offer everything in the standard Bigger Bundle, plus faster M500 broadband and all 11 Sky Cinema channels in HD.

The only difference between the Sky Cinema pack on Virgin Media and through Sky directly, is Sky have a Premiere +1 channel. Sky also include Paramount+ in their Sky Cinema pack.

Virgin Media have now launched Paramount+ access through the 360 box, after signing a deal in November 2022. They've yet to include it for free with any bundle though.

Bigger Bundle comes with the TV 360 box which also supports on-demand apps like Disney+, Prime Video, and Netflix, so there are plenty of ways for customers to watch films.

Virgin Media are currently offering the Bigger Bundle + Sports HD with M500 broadband.

At this pricing level, it's worth keeping an eye on the cost of Virgin's top bundle, Mega Volt (was Ultimate Volt), because it can become more cost-effective to upgrade depending on current offers.

Right now, Mega Volt only costs £13.99 more per month than the Bigger Volt Bundle + Sports HD, but would also include Sky Cinema, Netflix, an unlimited data O2 SIM, and gigabit broadband.

Biggest TV Bundle

The Biggest TV Bundle is a newer addition to Virgin Media's line-up, and has replaced the Bigger Bundle + Sports & Movies option.

However, as mentioned, it doesn't always offer good value for money, with the Mega Volt bundle priced only slightly more.

It's the penultimate bundle from Virgin Media before moving onto the flagship Mega Volt bundle, and offers a large range of premium TV content, but does fall down in some areas.

For example, the M125 broadband plan only offers average download speeds of 132Mb per second, compared to 1130Mbps with the Mega Volt Bundle. The next bundle up also includes anytime calls to UK landlines and mobiles, as well as an unlimited O2 SIM.

Overall, most customers will find the jump to Mega Volt to offer much better value for money and improved features as well.

Verdict: Is the Bigger Bundle any good?

Virgin Media's Bigger Bundle will appeal to many households looking for a home entertainment plan with a wide range of premium content that also doesn't break the bank.

The Bigger Bundle's value for money comes to the fore with the standard package option, as this costs just £40 per month for premium TV and ultrafast M350 broadband.

It's the next step up from Virgin Media's Big Bundle, which offers mainly only Freeview channels with the option to add subscriptions to on-demand apps.

At the time of writing, the Bigger Bundle is only £7 more per month than the Big Bundle, making it a worthwhile upgrade for an extra 90 pay TV channels and faster broadband.

Overall, the Bigger Bundle is a competitively priced deal covering the wants of most households for entertainment and broadband, while customers who want both sports and movies should look to the Mega Volt Bundle.
