BT Full Fibre 900 is BT's fastest broadband plan, offering average download speeds of 900Mbps over a full fibre connection.
It's built for busy households, with enough bandwidth to support multiple people streaming, gaming, working from home and downloading large files at the same time.
While BT offers UK-based support and more security features, Full Fibre 900 isn't cheap - and rivals are now offering faster speeds, better routers and lower prices.

Quick verdict
BT Full Fibre 900 offers average download speeds of 900Mbps and uploads of 110Mbps, making it fast enough for even the busiest homes. It also comes with a strong 700Mbps minimum speed guarantee to the hub, giving customers more reassurance over real-world performance.
The recent upgrade to the WiFi 6 Smart Hub 3 is a welcome improvement and should be adequate for making good use of gigabit speeds over WiFi. However, it's still behind the WiFi 7 routers available with EE and Vodafone Pro, while those in larger homes may want to add Complete WiFi Plus for better coverage.
BT isn't the cheapest option for gigabit broadband, but it does include some worthwhile extras, particularly its stronger security features, with both Hub Threat Protect and Cyber Threat Protect included as standard. Overall, Full Fibre 900 is a strong choice for households prioritising speed, reliability and security, although better-value deals and more advanced routers can be found elsewhere.

What does BT Full Fibre 900 include?
BT Full Fibre 900 is sold on a 24-month minimum term and comes with BT's latest Smart Hub 3 router as standard. The package is broadband-only by default, with home phone and enhanced whole-home WiFi available as optional add-ons.
As standard, customers get:
- WiFi 6 Smart Hub 3
- Stay Fast Guarantee
- 100% UK and Ireland-based customer support
- BT Parental Controls
- 24-month minimum contract
The Smart Hub 3 is a relatively recent upgrade for BT, finally moving its standard broadband customers from WiFi 5 to WiFi 6. That should be adequate for most Full Fibre 900 households, although customers with larger properties can add Complete Wi-Fi Plus for additional coverage around the home.
BT also includes several security features at no additional cost, which helps distinguish Full Fibre 900 from cheaper gigabit deals:
- Hub Threat Protect
- Cyber Threat Protect for up to 15 devices
- Web Threat Protect
- Scam call protection with BT Call Protect when taking a home phone service
Hub Threat Protect provides protection at the router level, helping to identify and block threats across devices connected to the home network. Cyber Threat Protect adds Norton-powered security for up to 15 compatible devices, including protection when they're being used away from home.
These features make BT particularly competitive on security. While Full Fibre 900 itself can cost more than similar-speed packages from rivals, customers don't have to pay separately for the main online security tools, making the overall package better value than the monthly broadband price alone might suggest.
Who is BT Full Fibre 900 best for?
BT Full Fibre 900 is best suited to larger or particularly busy households, where several people regularly use the Internet at the same time.
For a household of four or more people, or one with dozens of connected devices, the extra bandwidth gives everyone plenty of capacity without having to think too much about who's online.
It's particularly well suited to homes with demanding Internet users, including:
- Families and shared households with four or more people
- Homes with lots of phones, laptops, TVs and smart home devices
- Multiple people working from home or making video calls
- 4K streaming on several TVs at once
- Regular gaming and large game downloads
- Frequent large file or cloud downloads
- Households particularly concerned about online security
Security is one of the better reasons to choose BT over a cheaper gigabit provider. BT includes network and device-level security features as standard, including Cyber Threat Protect, rather than treating online security purely as a paid extra.
BT can also be a good fit for customers who want more than a basic broadband connection. A home phone can be added using BT Digital Voice, while larger properties can add Complete Wi-Fi Plus to extend the Smart Hub 3's WiFi coverage throughout the home. Hybrid Connect is another option for households where staying online is particularly important, providing an EE 4G backup connection if the fixed broadband goes down.
For one or two people who mainly browse the web, use social media and watch Netflix, however, Full Fibre 900 is likely to be unnecessary. A slower full fibre package from BT should provide more than enough bandwidth and could save a significant amount over the course of the contract.
How much does BT Full Fibre 900 cost?
BT Full Fibre 900 currently costs £32.99 per month on a 24-month contract, with free setup. Here is the current pricing for the broadband-only option with available special offers:
| Monthly price | Broadband | Contract | |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() |
£32.99 | 900Mb 110Mb upload |
24 months Free setup |
Offer: £100 BT Reward Card + Up to £200 switching credit (Ends in 2 days) £36.99 from March 2027, then £40.99 from March 2028 | |||
At its starting price, Full Fibre 900 would cost £791.76 over 24 months, but customers will actually pay more because BT's monthly prices increase during the minimum term.
BT applies a fixed £4 per month increase to broadband prices each 31 March. This makes the eventual contract cost dependent on when a customer signs up and how many annual increases fall within their minimum term.
There are no compulsory setup or router charges to add, although optional broadband extras can increase the price.
Complete Wi-Fi Plus costs £10 per month and adds BT's whole-home WiFi guarantee and additional WiFi extenders, while Hybrid Connect also costs £10 per month and provides a 4G backup connection if the fixed broadband goes down.
Full Fibre 900 comes as broadband-only as standard, but customers can add a home phone from £5 per month extra, or bundle broadband with a BT TV plan from £15 per month extra, as we look at below. TV plans are also subject to their own £2 per month annual price rise, in addition to the £4 annual increase applied to broadband.
BT Full Fibre 900 + home phone
Customers who want to keep a home phone can add BT Digital Voice from £5 per month to Full Fibre 900. Digital Voice uses the broadband connection to make and receive calls, rather than a traditional analogue phone line, and customers can usually keep their existing phone number.
BT offers two calling plans depending on how often the phone is used:
| Calling plan | Monthly cost | Inclusive calls |
|---|---|---|
| Pay As You Go | £5 | None - calls charged separately |
| Unlimited Minutes | £18 | Unlimited calls to UK landlines and mobiles |
The £5 Pay As You Go option is the cheapest way to retain a home phone and is likely to suit people who mainly want to receive calls or keep an existing number. Outgoing calls aren't included, however, and are charged separately at BT's standard rates.
For people who regularly use their home phone, Unlimited Minutes costs £18 per month and includes anytime calls to UK landlines and UK mobiles. Both calling plans are delivered through Digital Voice, so an existing compatible phone can be connected to the Smart Hub rather than a traditional phone socket.
BT also includes Call Protect at no extra cost, which helps screen nuisance and unwanted calls. However, because Digital Voice relies on the broadband connection and mains electricity, the phone won't normally work during a broadband or power outage.
BT Full Fibre 900 + BT TV
Full Fibre 900 customers can also add BT TV, which brings together Freeview channels with streaming services and premium entertainment or sports channels through a BT TV box.
There are five main packages to choose from:
| BT TV plan | Monthly price | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| Entertainment | £15 | NOW Entertainment and Netflix Standard with adverts |
| Entertainment Plus | £19 | NOW Entertainment, HBO Max Basic with Ads and Netflix Standard with adverts |
| Sport | £27 | TNT Sports channels 1-4 in HD and TNT Sports on HBO Max |
| Sport Plus | £50 | TNT Sports, Sky Sports on NOW in HD and NOW Boost |
| Full Works | £84 | NOW Entertainment, HBO Max, NOW Cinema, Sky Sports, Netflix Standard and TNT Sports |
Entertainment is the cheapest general TV package and bundles NOW Entertainment with Netflix, while Entertainment Plus adds HBO Max. Sports fans can choose between Sport for TNT Sports or Sport Plus, which adds the full Sky Sports line-up through NOW. Full Works combines BT's main entertainment, cinema and sports services in one package.
There are some introductory discounts available, so the amount paid at the start of a contract can be lower. For example, BT is currently offering Sport for £5 per month for the first three months, rising to £27.
BT TV plans are taken on a 24-month contract alongside broadband and are subject to a separate £2 per month price increase each 31 March. Combined with BT's £4 annual broadband increase, taking Full Fibre 900 with BT TV means the overall monthly bill increases by £6 each March during the minimum term.
