Full Fibre 500 is BT's mid-tier full fibre plan, with average download speeds of 500Mbps. It's available to 7 in 10 homes on the Openreach network.
BT has upgraded the plan to the Smart Hub 3, so it now comes with a faster WiFi 6 router at no extra cost. Home phone and the WiFi guarantee are still optional extras.
BT's prices are also now near the cheaper end of the market. That puts it in direct competition with Sky and Virgin Media, as well as its sister brands EE and Plusnet.

BT Full Fibre 500 delivers average download speeds of 500Mbps and uploads of 73Mbps. BT offers a Stay Fast Guarantee of 425Mbps, so if your speed drops below that and BT can't fix it within 60 days, you can claim compensation or leave your contract.
The Smart Hub 3 is a solid WiFi 6 router and covers most homes well. Larger or multi-storey properties may still need the WiFi guarantee add-on, but most homes can skip it. The home phone add-on is only worth paying for if you still use a landline.
Reward cards make the deal even better. Competition for full fibre customers is fierce, so BT's pricing is now very attractive, yet, you still get a reliable brand with high customer satisfaction, low complaints, and UK-based support.
