New Fibre to Your Room installation allows router to be placed anywhere in the home.
Community Fibre has launched a new "Fibre to Your Room" installation service, giving customers greater flexibility over where their router is placed within the home.
Customers can now request for the Optical Network Terminal and router to be installed in any room of their choice - provided the fibre cable run is under 40 metres.
The upgrade promises stronger Wi-Fi coverage where it's needed most and improved connectivity for wired devices such as gaming consoles and smart TVs.
London-based Community Fibre's new service, "Fibre to Your Room", takes home broadband a step beyond standard Fibre to the Home (FTTH) or Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) installations by giving customers more control over where their service is set up.
This "room of choice" option allows the router to be installed in the part of the home where it's needed most - typically near key devices such as smart TVs, computers, or games consoles - rather than at the nearest entry point, which is often in a hallway.
By optimising placement, the service can deliver stronger Wi-Fi coverage, reduced signal loss, and a smoother online experience throughout the home. It can also help where a power socket isn't available near the standard entry point.
Fibre to Your Room carries a one-off fee of £75, covering an engineer installation and the run of fibre cable inside the home for up to 40 metres.
According to Community Fibre, the installation may involve internal drilling to route the cable between rooms, though any holes - internal or external - will be neatly filled once work is complete.
While customers can choose almost any room, including those on the first or second floor, installations do not extend to lofts, basements, garages, or outbuildings.
Community Fibre operates its own full-fibre network across London, reaching more than 1.3 million homes and businesses with symmetrical connections of up to 5Gbps.
While the new Fibre to Your Room service is available to both new and existing customers, new subscribers can also take advantage of discounted broadband plans starting from just £15 per month.
The 150Mb Fibre Broadband plan is currently reduced to £15 per month for the first 24 months, while the 1Gb Fibre Broadband plan is priced at £20 per month for the same period.
A key advantage Community Fibre holds over competitors such as BT, Sky, and Virgin Media is that it offers symmetrical upload and download speeds across all speed tiers, delivering faster and more consistent performance for activities like video calls and file uploads.
However, the provider has introduced an annual price increase of £2 per month each April, which customers should factor into their budgets - though this remains lower than BT's £4 and Virgin Media's £4 monthly rises.
