Broadband and TV packages updated with Netflix, HD Sky channels and cheaper call plans.
Virgin Media has refreshed its broadband and TV bundles, adding Netflix at no extra cost while increasing speeds and simplifying its line-up.
The entry-level tier for TV packages is now M250, with average download speeds of 264Mbps, while all Sky channels are now included in HD as standard.
The changes come alongside a revamp of Virgin Media's home phone options, which now offer lower prices on key call plans for new and existing customers.
Virgin Media has updated its broadband, TV and home phone packages with a focus on faster speeds and clearer choices for households.
The lowest broadband tier with a TV bundle is now M250, while HD access to Sky's premium channels is included at no extra cost - saving customers £7 per month to boost Sky Sports to HD, for example.
Virgin's TV line-up now consists of five core packages: Entertainment, Cinema, Sport HD, Sport HD & Cinema, and Max. All include Netflix Standard with Ads as part of the deal.
Bundles can also be taken with Volt - now simply branded as an 'O2 SIM' - which adds double mobile data, boosted broadband speeds and inclusive roaming in 75 worldwide destinations.
Christian Hindennach, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Media O2, said, "As the world of entertainment evolves, we're focused on not only shaping our offering to continue to meet our customers' needs, but ensuring we bring together the very best in connectivity and programming so they can enjoy an experience that truly works for their household - all in one place. Netflix is one of the biggest streaming providers across the globe, and through our enhanced partnership, Virgin Media customers can enjoy even more value and access to the greatest shows, movies, documentaries and more as part of their bundle, and at no extra cost."
One of the most notable changes to Virgin Media's line-up is the addition of Netflix with all of their TV bundles, as well as some of their broadband-only plans too.
All TV bundles and M500 broadband-only and above now come with a Netflix Standard with Ads subscription included as part of their package, saving customers £5.99 per month compared to purchasing the plan separately.
This makes Virgin Media the first UK provider to include the streaming service with broadband-only packages, offering households a simpler way to access entertainment in one place, particularly for those who prioritise streaming.
Virgin Media has also revised its home phone options, cutting prices for customers who re-contract.
Talk Anytime has been reduced from £15 to £8 per month, while Weekend Chatter has dropped from £5 to £3 per month.
Although fewer broadband customers now take home phone services, the lower prices are partly linked to Virgin Media's move to fully digital lines, removing its reliance on BT infrastructure.
Overall, these changes could save customers money each month while making Virgin Media's bundles easier to choose from and better suited to streaming habits.
