NOW Broadband is ending support for the NOW Hub Two router.
From 31st July 2025 NOW Broadband will no longer support the NOW Hub Two router, with any failed devices no longer being replaced.
This end-of-life date was scheduled back in March, when NOW Broadband withdrew security and firmware updates for the device and first informed customers.
Where customers are faced with a broken NOW Hub Two after the end of this month, they can end their contract without penalty and switch elsewhere.
NOW Hub Two's end of life was first reported in April 2025 when existing customers of NOW Broadband were warned that their router was no longer receiving security and service updates.
While customers were told the Now Hub Two would continue to work as normal, the upcoming date of 31st July 2025 at the end of this month signals the end of life for this device, with replacements no longer being made available.
From 31st July 2025 existing NOW Broadband customers who experience a fault with their NOW Hub Two router will no longer be able to access a replacement device.
Instead, they'll be able to end their service without any early termination fees and switch to another provider.
NOW's customer email read, "Please note, your Hub is no longer receiving security and service updates, or will stop receiving security updates by 2025. However, your Hub will continue to work as normal and will keep you connected to the internet.
"We recommend, as a minimum, changing your Hub admin password to reduce the risk of security threats. This won't change your WiFi password, just the password used to check your Hub details.
"From July 31st 2025, should your Hub develop a fault, we unfortunately won't be able to provide a replacement. If this happens, don't worry, you'll be able to end your service immediately without any termination fees."
Since June 2024 all new contracts taken out with NOW Broadband have been 'powered by Sky'.
Along with new full fibre broadband packages, the closer integration with parent company Sky also meant new customers of NOW Broadband were provided with a Sky Broadband Hub instead of the NOW Hub Two.
The Sky Broadband Hub offers a number of advantages over the NOW Hub Two, the main one being boosted signal performance with more internal antennae, it also supports intelligent mesh.
The NOW Hub Two is a rebranded version of Sky's previous router, the Sky Q Hub, which was first released in 2018 and later replaced by the Sky Broadband Hub in 2019.
It's unsurprising then that NOW Broadband would stop supporting the NOW Hub Two, as Sky also no longer provides their Sky Q Hub version to new customers and is also withdrawing service and security updates for the hub from 31st December 2025.
Affected NOW Broadband customers should be out of contract with the provider by this month, as older NOW Broadband contracts had a minimum contract term of 12 months.
So, switching to another provider, or re-contracting with a new deal from NOW Broadband powered by Sky is recommended to ensure the security of your home network and online activities.
