Why get a pay monthly mobile phone from Vodafone?

Excellent choice and value for money

Vodafone are one of the biggest network operators in the UK, and with this size comes a level of experience and expertise that's hard to beat. Vodafone pay monthly plans offer a broad selection of handsets for customers to choose from, covering most of the major smartphone manufacturers. Added to this, their variety of plans provide a wide range of different data limits, accommodating the vast majority of phone users, from those who only need to check their status updates and therefore need only a gigabyte of data, to those who browse the web and stream media while on the go, and therefore need considerably more.

Network Satisfaction Guarantee

In the past, Vodafone may have had some issues related to their complaints handling. However, they're making up for it now by offering new and upgrading customers a Network Satisfaction Guarantee. This lasts for 30 days from the start of a new contract, and it entitles the customer to cancel their contract without question, and without having to pay any exit fee. Not only does such a measure grant new subscribers the ability to act on any disappointment in the event they aren't entirely satisfied, but it also shows that Vodafone are completely serious about giving their customers the best possible service. In fact, even if new and upgrading customers pass the 30-day window to leave their contract, they can still make any issue directly known to Vodafone by using the Network Satisfaction Guarantee app.

The My Vodafone App

Customers who sign up for a Vodafone pay monthly mobile phone plan will also gain access to the My Vodafone App. This is a handy tool that allows subscribers to keep track of their usage, their spending, and to order extras in case they use up their monthly allowances. Not only does it allow people to see how much data and how many minutes they have left, but it also includes a live-chat feature, enabling them to speak with a Vodafone customer service professional in the event they need to ask a question or have any problems. And even though it will obviously use up a small part of a customer’s data allowance to download, it's completely free to use.

Things to remember

Contracts

While 24-month contracts are increasingly becoming the norm for most mobile operators, Vodafone still provide the option of a 12-month contract with many of their pay monthly mobile phone deals. Given that this doesn't lock customers in for two years, it obviously gives them more flexibility. However, they should be aware that 12-month deals are likely to be more expensive when it comes to the monthly subscription fee, and also when it comes to the one-off upfront payment they have to put down when opening the contract. As such, they should think carefully before choosing one option over the other.

Switching

In order to switch to a Vodafone pay monthly mobile phone deal from another operator, potential customers should make sure they’re out of contract with their current supplier, otherwise they'll be charged an exit fee. Added to this, they should inform their old supplier that they're switching. Also, if they want to keep their existing phone number they ought to ask for a porting authorisation code (PAC).

Another important thing to remember for customers when it comes to switching operator is unlocking their current handsets. In the case of taking up a new phone as part of a pay monthly plan, this obviously isn't much of a problem. However, it's worth remembering that, if a customer takes a new smartphone as part of a pay monthly mobile phone deal, then they will have to unlock the phone if they want to move elsewhere with it at the end of the deal. This can be done by asking their existing operator, although in this case the unlocking process can sometimes can take a week or two. Alternatively, if they want their phone to be unlocked more quickly, they can take it to one of the many mobile phone shops that litter the high street.
