TalkTalk offer a range of broadband deals across the UK, including both part-fibre and full fibre connections.

Availability of TalkTalk broadband

TalkTalk broadband is available to the majority of homes in the UK, operating both an LLU part-fibre network, and offering full fibre through both Openreach and CityFibre.

For full fibre broadband, Openreach currently passes over 12.5 million premises, while CityFibre has so passed 3 million, with 2.6 million ready for service.

Both networks have ambitious rollout plans, with Openreach aiming to cover 25 million premises by the end of 2026, and CityFibre aiming to reach 8 million by 2025.

TalkTalk offer a full fibre first approach, which means where it's available customers can only connect to TalkTalk through a full fibre to the home installation. However, they do offer a Full Fibre 65 plan for those on a budget who don't want ultrafast speeds.

TalkTalk broadband speeds

TalkTalk offer broadband speeds ranging from 11Mbps to 944Mbps on average at peak times, while upload speeds range from 1Mbps to 91Mbps.

Speeds available to homes will vary between locations, so it's worthwhile entering your postcode above to see the TalkTalk broadband deals available to you.

Households living within full fibre enabled areas should be able to choose from download speeds including 152Mbps, 525Mbps, and 944Mbps. While those who have yet to be reached by the full fibre rollout can choose from speeds including 38Mbps and 67Mbps.

TalkTalk also still offer their basic copper line for any homes that don't have superfast fibre or full fibre, which could include those living on exchange only lines. TalkTalk Fast Broadband offers average download speeds of 11Mbps.

Full Fibre 65 77Mb 20Mb

The advertised averages here must be received by at least 50% of TalkTalk customers during the peak hours of 8pm to 10pm in the evening when the network is busiest.

In addition, TalkTalk offer customers personalised estimates when they sign up, along with a minimum guaranteed speed. If customers receive a broadband speed less than this minimum for 3 consecutive days or more, and TalkTalk are unable to resolve the issue within 30 days, they are free to exit their contracts early without penalty.

Customers taking Fibre 35 or Fibre 65 will receive the TalkTalk WiFi Hub Black. This router includes smart channel selection to connect devices automatically to the fastest available wi-fi channel. It's a dual band router with four gigabit ethernet ports, a WAN port and seven antennae to improve coverage around the home.

Only TalkTalk full fibre customers who receive an Amazon eero can also sign up to TalkTalk's whole home WiFi guarantee, it's also only available in Openreach enabled areas.

Total Home WiFi costs £6 per month and provides one extra Amazon eero router to boost wireless coverage around a home. TalkTalk Full Fibre 900 customers get this included as standard.

Does TalkTalk broadband include a phone line?

TalkTalk superfast fibre plans, Fibre 35 and Fibre 65, as well as Fast Broadband, all still offer a phone line with pay as you go calls and the option to add an inclusive call plan.

Does TalkTalk TV offer Sky Sports?

Sky Sports can be accessed via TalkTalk TV by signing up to a NOW TV Sports Membership on a rolling 30-day contract.

NOW Sports includes all 11 live Sky Sports channels. Usually, NOW is delivered in 720p HD as standard and customers have to pay more for the NOW Boost to watch the channels in full 1080p HD. However, NOW Boost is included for free for TalkTalk TV customers.

How can I switch to TalkTalk broadband?

Switching to TalkTalk broadband depends on the existing network a customer is on.

Those who currently receive broadband from an Openreach provider, including BT, Plusnet, EE, Sky, and NOW Broadband, only need to place an order with TalkTalk for a new broadband deal, and TalkTalk will handle the switch for them.

However, customers switching from another network, including Virgin Media, will need to contact their existing provider to cancel their services, while also ordering TalkTalk broadband.

Finally, customers signing up to full fibre broadband from TalkTalk for the first time are likely to require an engineer visit to install the fibre optic cable into their home.
