How good is TalkTalk Broadband and TV?
Wide range of channels
With a TalkTalk broadband and TV deal, customers will be able to receive a nice range of television channels broadcasting a crowd-pleasing variety of programming. All packages come with Freeview via the Youview TV service, while the more premium deals come with a number of inclusive Sky entertainment channels. Added to this, customers also have the option of adding Sky Sports and Sky Cinema as extras, although for additional cost. With such possibilities, customers will be able to select and create a TV package that meets mosts tastes.
Record, pause and rewind live television
In addition to receiving a generous portion of channels, takers of a TalkTalk broadband and TV package will also be able to pause and rewind live television. With this facility, they'll never have to worry about missing another moment of TV again, and will be able to nip out to make a cup of tea while keeping all the action held in suspense. On top of this, certain deals also come with a set-top box that's able to record as well as pause television, so that customers will be able to keep up-to-date with all their favourite shows even if they have other things they need to do.
Fast and superfast broadband
As well as all the conveniences of a modern television set-up, a TalkTalk broadband and TV bundle offers potential customers the chance to receive superfast up to 38Mb and up to 76Mb fibre broadband. If they have more demanding internet usage needs, they can benefit from some of the fastest speeds on the market, allowing them to indulge in streaming and downloading without having to suffer noticeable slowdowns. Alternatively, if they aren't heavy users of their broadband, they still have the option of choosing a standard up to 17Mb connection, one which offers more value for money yet still enables them to check their emails and do the majority of things they're used to doing online.

Extra benefits of TalkTalk deals
Just as customers can with other providers, those who take a TalkTalk broadband and TV package will be able to add Netflix to their service. However, as with every other provider, this requires a separate monthly subscription, something which will bump up the overall cost of the TalkTalk bundle
A free SIM card?
TalkTalk generally offer new subscribers the option to take a SIM card free of charge. Usually, this comes with a rolling monthly contract, which customers can cancel at any time. However, it's not obligatory for new customers to take it, so if they aren't on the lookout for a new mobile plan, they can always refuse the offer.
Added security features?
Another extra added to TalkTalk broadband and TV deals are a couple of internet security programs for PC users. These are a parental control program that controls what the younger members of a household can view online, and also a firewall, which provides a range of antivirus and antimalware apps. Together, they should keep TalkTalk customers safe from the majority of online threats.
What to remember
How to switch to TalkTalk
Even if switching from another TV and broadband provider, TalkTalk assure newcomers that the process is extraordinarily quick and painless. All it involves is simply placing an order for the desired bundle, and then waiting for up to two weeks while they connect the line and send an engineer if required. Of course, while switching is handled almost entirely by TalkTalk, customers should always contact their previous supplier at the end of the process and make sure that they're aware of the switch. Also, they should remember to cancel any Direct Debit they had in place for their previous bundle, since the alternative would be to pay for two services at once.
Fee for set-top box
Subscription to a TalkTalk TV and broadband deal provides customers with a set-top box, which allows them to pause and rewind live television and even record their favourite series. However, there is usually a one-off fee for this box, so newcomers should bear this in mind when calculating the cost of the services they're choosing between.
As with their broadband deals, TalkTalk give subscribers to their TV and internet bundles a "Fixed-price guarantee" for the duration of their contract. This guards customers from any price increases, and given that the provider offer 24-month as well as 12- and 18-month contracts, this means that customers can rest safe in the knowledge that they will be protected from fee rises for a long time to come.
Also, if customers wish to save a little bit more money with their deal, they should consider that the longer contracts are often cheaper than the shorter ones.
Line rental is included
As well as television and broadband, new customers also receive a line rental from TalkTalk. This is mandatory, since there's no option to receive broadband without a landline from the provider, nor is there the option to receive a landline from someone else. However, new subscribers have the option of choosing to block outgoing calls, so that they end up paying a little less each month. On top of this, the process of switching landline or having one installed is simple enough, with new customers able to keep their existing number after having switched.
